THEWHY
For over 14 years, since I started running ultramarathons, I've always dreamed of running across the country. I've completed dozens, plus a few expeditions that took up to seven days, but I never thought I'd find time for something as big as this. Like millions of others, due to Covid, I found myself in a transition point in life and thought, "if not now, when?" So, we're doing it! Most importantly, we're doing it for a great cause.

120,000 ft of vertical gain. 12 states. A coast-to-coast run, starting in San Francisco and ending on the shores of Connecticut all to help end hunger. View map here.
THECAUSE
Founded in 1982 and a member of the national organization Feeding America, Foodshare is the regional food bank serving Connecticut’s Hartford and Tolland counties, where 118,000 people struggle with hunger. In partnership with the food industry, donors, community leaders and volunteers, Foodshare maximizes access to nutritious food and other resources that support food security.
And, because hunger is more than food, Foodshare collaborates with anti-hunger organizations, policy makers, and the broader community to build effective solutions to end hunger.
